Suburban RUSH Saturday April 26, 2008!

200 racers exited Newport Village at 10:00 AM to kick off the 4th annual Suburban RUSH Adventure Race on Saturday. The weather was excellent and the competition was good for what was said by many to be the most challenging course to date for the 4th annual event.

The 2008 course had the most elevation gain ever and took the racers from sea level to a height of nearly 500 metres where beautiful views could be seen of Mt. Seymour, Vancouver, and Buntzen Lake from CP3.

The navigational challenge had the racers thinking more this year including a bushwhack to marker 6 overlooking the main beach at Buntzen Lake.

Some other mystery challenges got some good laughs at other parts of the course and great Port Moody single track brought the racers home to the finish line.

Single track through Bert Flynn Park on route to the finish line.

For the first time in this race's history three team of two male teams were the top three overall positions on the podium.

Team Helly Hansen/MOMAR finish 1st place overall!

There was plenty of smiling tired faces at the finish line before heading to the pub social after the race. Congratulations to all that finished the Suburban RUSH Adventure Race!
